And American English is loaded with euphemisms, because Americans have a lot of trouble dealing with reality. Americans have trouble facing the truth, so they invent the kind of a soft language to protect themselves from it. And it gets worse with every generation. O, a propos "W pystyni i w paszczy", słyszeliście, że jakaś polonistka/aktywistka wystąpiła z inicjatywą, by tę książkę usunąć z listy lektur szkolnych, a nawet wpisać ją na indeks ksiąg zakazanych, ponieważ "utrwala ona w młodzieży przekonania sprzed 120 lat, utrwala schematy religijne, rasistowskie, seksistowskie, itd.?

Czytałem tę wiadomość. Ciekawe co następne. Proponuję "Lalkę" Prusa, przecież pokazuje nieprawdziwy zimnosuczy obraz kobiet.
"Bambo" Tuwima chyba już dawno został uznany za rasistowski, a naprawdę trzeba mieć pustkę między uszami, aby dopatrzeć się w tych 16 wersach rasizmu.
HBO GO z platformy usunęło "Przeminęło z wiatrem", a za ten film pierwsza Murzynka dostała Oskara za rolę drugoplanową. Mają podobno przywrócić, ale opatrzyć notką historyczną.
Ciekawe kiedy wrócą do "Django" Tarantino. Już po premierze m.in. Spike Lee zarzucał QT nadmierne epatowanie słowem: "nigger".
Tymczasem o Leopoldzie II, królu Belgów jakoś cicho.

Szokujące jest to, że grupa ludzi może robić, w super zorganizowanych, praworządnych wzorcowo demokracjach, cokolwiek im się podoba... Ten pomnik ok, tamten do rzeki i nikt nad tym nie panuje.
